Beware of Fraudsters Using my Name - Bollyn Email Hacked

August 31, 2015

Hello how you? - Do we speak English?

My Yahoo email account was hacked on August 31 and a fraudulent email was sent out by the hackers using my name. This is a FAKE email that says I was robbed in London. (As a matter of fact, the last time I was in London I was detained for a day by unknown gunmen at Heathrow Airport.)

People have been calling me from around the world asking how they can help. I appreciate your concern. We are all fine, thank you.

The email is fake and fraudulent and I hope the FBI will investigate this case of email fraud as they should, but I never seem to hear that they are. In any case, I have fixed the problem with my email security. I have also asked Yahoo to investigate and asked if the FBI investigates such cases.

This email fraud is rather complex. The fraudsters set up an email account that looks very much like mine, using "bollynbooks@yahoo.com" instead of my "bollyn.books@yahoo.com" for my Yahoo email account. They sent the emails to people from my address book by hacking into my real email account.

The good thing is that the fake email does not work, so I don't think anyone lost any money on this fraud. I wrote back to the fake email and got this error message back:

Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

<bollynbooks@yahoo.com>:

This user doesn't have a yahoo.com account (bollynbooks@yahoo.com)

This is what the spoof email looked like:
