The Pentagon's Abandonment of its Own People on 9/11
November 2, 2017
"The Pentagon's functioning," Rumsfeld said on 9/11, but was it?
The Pentagon's 9/11 press conference - Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, flanked by Secretary of the Army Tom White, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Hugh Shelton, and Senators John Warner (R-VA), and Carl Levin (D-MI), the Ranking Member and Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Why did the Pentagon fail to rescue its own people, and why did it turn the site of an "act of war" over to the F.B.I.?
Carol Valentine gave me a binder with some of her articles about 9/11 during my recent tour. One of the articles about the attack on the Pentagon is titled, "Pentagon RESCUE? - Open Bloody Questions..."
Valentine raises many questions in this article, some better than others, but the one that strikes me as most important is this: Why did the Pentagon turn over the site of an "act of war" to the F.B.I. on 9/11?
WHY WAS F.B.I. PUT IN CHARGE OF PENTAGON SITE?
We know the F.B.I. was in charge of the Pentagon site because the Secretary of the Army, Thomas E. White, said so during the Sept. 11, 2001 (6:42 p.m.) Dept.of Defense News Briefing.
Q: Mr. Secretary?
A: Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld: Yes?
Q: Can you describe the fire-fighting efforts that are going on right now in that corridor and the search-and-rescue efforts that are beginning?
A: Rumsfeld: Can I describe them?
A: Rumsfeld: Why don't we let the Secretary of the Army, who was out there with me a few minutes ago and has been talking to the incident commander on the site.
A: Secretary of the Army Thomas E. White: I think it's fair to say at this point that the fire is contained, and will shortly, if not already, be sufficiently controlled to allow entry into the building. That entry will be supervised by the FBI, who are in charge of the site, assisted by the fire departments that are present. We, on the Army side, will support them as they go in the building and search for casualties and bring them out, then we will support them in dealing with that. That's what's going on on the ground.
Carol Valentine described this as the military abandoning their responsibilities and turning the military site of an act of war over to civilian authorities:
RUMSFELD, MILITARY, HAND THEIR JOBS TO FBI
Let's go back to the beginning, and state the obvious. The Pentagon is not your ordinary run-of the-mill office building. The Pentagon is the military headquarters for the mightiest military power on earth. It is the home of the US Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, and Special Operations.
According to the Official Story, the 9-11 attack on the Pentagon was an act of war. Rumsfeld and the top brass had lawful jurisdiction over the piece of real estate on which the "act of war" had just occurred; the Pentagon building was a war zone. But what did Rumsfeld, Gen. Shelton, and the top brass do? On September 11, 2001, they gave jurisdiction of the war zone to the FBI — a division of the civilian Department of Justice. (Robert S. Mueller had just been appointed FBI Director the week before on September 4.)
This may sound like a small detail to some people, but it is of crucial importance. It is exactly what happened in New York City and Shanksville, Pennsylvania: The F.B.I. took over the sites and investigation, actions which resulted in the destruction of evidence and cover-up of the truth. On 9/11 the F.B.I. was under the control of a son of the Mossad, Asst. Attorney General Michael Chertoff, the Israeli-American dual national who ran the Criminal Division of the Dept. of Justice and who was in charge of the investigation.
Under Chertoff, rather than carrying out a blue-ribbon investigation of 9/11, the F.B.I. oversaw the cover-up of the worst act of mass murder and terrorism in U.S. history. A proper investigation of 9/11 would, therefore, have to begin with the arrest and investigation of Michael Chertoff.
